Kaitlyn update

I have been bad about posting on here. I think everyone knows... Kaitlyn Liese Fulmer was born on Friday October 9, 2009. I went into labor Thursday evening and had her Friday at 1:57pm. She was 6lb 11oz and 19 1/2 inches. Once I got my epidural I went from 2 cm dilated to pushing within 1 1/2 hours. I pushed for 30 minutes. It was quite amazing the dr. had come in to see how I was doing and to put in internal monitors, she kept on moving off of them, and he checked me and said we are going to have a baby now. It was very unexpected, Jason and I were not ready for him to say that. Actually before the dr. came in I was feeling better with my epidural and I was going to try and take a nap (or at least get some rest).

When she was born she was a bit cold and had some issues getting the liquid out of her lungs. But the nursery nurse just had to keep an eye on her. She never had to leave the room or go to the nursery. Our first night was ok. It was Jason, Kaitlyn and I all in this small room. So we were ready to get out of the hospital ASAP. On Saturday when the pedi dr came in, he was impressed with how she was doing so he let us go home that night. Normally they make you stay 2 nights.

My mom and Jason's mom were in town helping out. They were a great help. I know it made Jason and I feel better having them there.

Over the past week Kaitlyn and I have been adjusting to being by ourselves during the day. We have been doing a pretty good job. I am trying to get her into a routine, which is harder than you thing. I know she has already picked up some bad habits, which hopefully we will be able to break them quickly.

We went to the dr. for a 1 week check up and she weighed 6lb 7oz (which was the same 6 hours after delivery). We had our 2 week check up Friday and their goal was for her to be back at birth weight. She weighed 7lb and was 20 inches. So our little girl is doing good with her weight gain and eating well. We go back to the dr. in Dec.

One of the biggest challenges is not taking her anywhere. If I need to go somewhere I have to wait for Jason to come home and then go. With her being born at this time of the year and with it being a bad flu season the dr. recommended not taking her into "public" places for 2 months.

37 Week Pictures

Dr's appointment this week went well. I am not dilated or effaced at all. Jason is going to Mexico Wednesday through Saturday of this week so it is a good thing we are not ready to be born. I am starting to feel big, especially when I sit down. But I guess that is to be expected when I am at this point. Let you know if anything happens.

Dr. App.

Yesterday I had my Dr.'s app. and everything went well. Baby was measuring good, heart rate was good, blood pressure was good, etc. I do not know if I am dilated or not, but her head is down and she is ready to come join us. Dr. said she should not turn again, if anything she would spin like a top. They will check me next week, so we shall know then if I am dilated. More to come...

Dallas Shower

I had my second shower this past Saturday in Dallas. This was a family shower. We had a really good time. It was so good to see all of the family that came to the shower. We had not seen some of the family in 3 1/2 years. Jason and I now have everything we need. We are ready for her to come. We are playing the waiting game at this point. I was at 36 weeks at this shower.

Albuquerque Baby Shower

I had my first shower in Albuquerque on Sept. 11th. Peggy through me the shower and she did a great job. We had such a great time, even though it rained and we had to move inside. We had such a great group of people there. There was a different group of people than were at my wedding shower. It was good to see some friends I have not seen in awhile. I was at 35 weeks for this shower. I got a lot of wonderful things and everything will come into great use.

33 Weeks

We are just plugging along here with about 6 1/2 weeks left. Jason and I ready for her to come. We have gotten our car seat/stroller travel system and bases. We actually already have the bases in our cars. Yes we know we are early, but I don't want to have Jason worrying about getting it in the car when I am in the hospital. We really like what we got and it seems really user friendly.

I went to the Dr. this week. Everything was going very smooth. I think I have quite awhile to go, she sits so far up on my upper right side. I don't think she is even close to making her entrance yet. But that is fine, we are waiting and we know she will come out when she is ready.

She has had the hiccups about 3 times. Which is an interesting feeling. I am waiting to see her hands or feet pushing out on me. I am still trying to figure out what parts are what.

I am going to Albuquerque in a week and a half for my shower. I am very excited about going on that trip. I just hope that everything goes well while I am out there and she does not decide to come during that time. If it happens it happens.

We have been taking our childbirth classes. We have 1 more this week. They have really been a good learning experience for both of us. We have also taken, breastfeeding and infant CPR. I know we are glad that we have taken each of the classes.

29/30 Weeks

Wow I can't believe that we only have 9 more weeks! The first two pictures are at 30 weeks. The count down is beginning.

Jason's mom got us some of our bedding, so our nursery is coming along more and more everyday. It really does look cute!

Jason and I decided on a name, and we have her name of the wall. However we are mean and will not tell anyone the name. But we are very excited to finally have a name and to be calling her something rather than baby.

We have started our childbirth classes. They are pretty informative, we are glad that we are taking them. It is a lot of time we are spending on them, but it will be worth it in the end.

28 Week Pictures

So I know I have been really bad about posting pictures. These pictures were taken this weekend. I am going to the Dr. on Thursday for my first 2 week appointment. We picked out a pediatrician today. So now the next big thing is to get a day care. Slowly but surly everything is coming together. I guess this is why we have 9 months.

Nursery

I have finally tried to get pictures up for you to see. Jason and I thought it might be easier to see the nursery as a video. The room is so small that I have been having a really hard time taking pictures that do justice. Lets see how this works. I did not talk in the video. I am new to taking video and I am not quite sure what to say. I will get better at this.

Nursery Updates!!!

Well it's official the nursery is done. It's amazing how much we have done in the past week. I have the room painted, and I picked up the furniture this weekend. We have the room decorated (sort of) and we are ready to go. I am still thinking about different ways to arrange the furniture so it may change. The furniture we got is large and the room is small so we do not have many options.

I will get some pictures up. It is really hard to take pictures in the room with it being so small. Let me see what I can do.

I am going to the Dr. this afternoon for my 26 week appointment. I have already taken my glucose test and I have not heard back from them so I am assuming everything is ok (we will find out today).

Baby is doing really well. She is active more and more each day. This morning was the first morning my alarm really bothered her. I guess she was sleeping really well. When the alarm went off she started kicking me, like what are you doing mom. Some days she is not as active, I guess it depends on how much I am doing. I can tell she is definitely getting bigger and stronger.

Nursery

Well it's official we have the shelves down that have been in the nursery. The room is cleaned out and I have picked out the primary color for the walls. I think I am going to do an accent wall but I do not have that color picked out yet. We get our furniture on Saturday so hopefully by the end of the weekend we can have the room painted and the furniture in the room. This is all very exciting the closer it gets.

House

I have been really bad about posting pictures and updating everyone over the last few weeks. My mom, uncle, and cousin came into town for the 4th of July weekend. So Jason and I have been really busy getting the house together. I think we have the house done except for the nursery. The house looks really good. We got new carpet and a garage last week.

I bought our nursery room furniture last week. I have not picked it up yet, I think we will get it on Saturday. I really love the furniture and we hope she does to. We have picked out a nursery theme, but we are having a really hard time with the paint color. Hopefully we can get that picked out this week.

I will post some pictures of the house hopefully this week.

It's a.....

This morning we went to the dr. office for our sonogram. It's official we are having a girl! Jason and I are very excited. She is doing very well. She weighs 1lb 3 oz, and her heartbeat was in the 140's. They said she looks good, and no issues all of her major organs and everything they look for was good. Currently she is in 40% when it comes to growth charts. She was so cute during the ultrasound. She was so active she would not sit still, moving her arms and legs all over the place, opening and closing her mouth.

We met the new dr. She is ok. I much prefer my other dr. but I guess there is nothing else we can do about it. I know she is competent but she is just a little different than Jason and I are use to.

Week 21/22 Pictures

I have been bad about posting the pictures the last two weeks. I have posted 2 weeks worth of pictures. The one in the strip shirt was at 21 weeks.

We have been working really hard at fixing up the house. We had a friend come over and suggest we change our doors in the house, we took her suggestion and it has been a lot of work. Everything looks a lot better with the new doors but what a two weeks. When I get the house done and cleaned I will post pictures of everything we have done to the house. All we have left to do is our bedroom and then the nursery. We already have the paint picked out for our room.

Well tomorrow is the big day. We go to the dr. in the morning and have a sonogram. Then we have an appointment with the dr. that is going to deliver us. I will post tomorrow the results of the sonogram and how everything is progressing.

Anniversary Trip

Jason and I went to lake Texoma this weekend for our anniversary. We have a very good time. We stayed in a cabin and fished. It was a perfect weekend on the lake. We have had a wonderful anniversary, I can't believe it has already been 1 year. It seams like yesterday that we were getting married. I got us a small cake seeing how we did not have the cake from the wedding. The cake was cute but it looked nothing like the actually wedding cake.

Ok I am really frustrated right now with adding pictures. For some reason I can not get the site to add the pictures. When I can get it to work I will post them. Sorry.

19 Week Photos

Wow I really feel like I have gotten so much bigger over the past few days. Jason does not think I have gotten that much bigger. I am not sure if you can tell from the pictures. We just got back from Albuquerque, we had a good trip. I went clothes shopping, I do have some clothes but I was hurting on work pants. It is definitely nice to be looking more pregnant rather than fat.

Trip

I am 19 weeks. 1 more week until I am half way! Wow this is going by really quickly. I did not gain any weight this week. My clothes are a lot tighter, I am not sure what I am going to do about my work clothes next week, I may have an issue. I have had a few people comment on my belly this week at work, they can definitely tell that I am showing. I will try and get this weeks picture up soon.

We finished our guest room, it looks really good. I do not have pictures taken yet, but I will try and get some taken next week.

We are in Albuquerque for the weekend. It is really nice to see my mom and family. She has been begging us to come out here for a long time, we were able to get a good flight so we are here for the long weekend. My aunt made us a baby outfit and it is so cute, I can't wait to try it on the baby. She hand crocheted it and it is amazing. She must have spend a lot of time on it. I love it!

We are looking forward to finding out the sex and starting to work on the nursery.

Dr. Appointment

I had my monthly dr. appointment today. Everything went very well. We got the results back from the blood work. The did some genetic screening and everything came back normal. The baby's heartbeat was in the 150's. The dr. tried to get the baby to wake up and get the heartbeat up, but I guess we were tired. I have my next dr. appointment on June 16th. We have a sonogram that day so we will find out the sex.

My dr. is also pregnant and she is due the day before me, so we have had to choose a new dr. I choose a new dr. today, I will not start seeing her every appointment until near the end.

I am still feeling the baby, but not everyday.

Week 18

Today I started my 18th week. I have been exercising most days which has been working well for me. I have still been feeling well. I go back to the Dr. on Tuesday. They will be looking at my lab results to see if there is anything else they will need to look for in my next sonogram. I am hoping everything is fine with the labs, they did some genetic screening tests. My clothes are getting tighter, I will have to go shopping soon. Jason is not happy about the shopping thing, but I will try and keep the spending to a minimum.

We are starting to think about paint colors for the nursery. We are done painting the living areas, next we are moving into the guest bedroom, then ours and then the nursery. We will be getting new carpet after that. Our house is really starting to come together. The major issue I still have with the house is the storage space.

I will take my 18 week pictures on Saturday and I will get them posted as soon as possible. Hopefully I will get this picture taking thing down and get some good pictures on this blog.

WOW

Well I think it is official! I felt the baby kick today. I have been feeling things off and on for about a week or so, but nothing I could be for sure about. Today I felt a few kicks here and there, but I have not felt anything again for a few hours. I am so very excited about this, I have been waiting for so long to feel the baby move. To actually feel the baby is more amazing than I ever thought it would be. I can't wait for more to come.

Week 17

Everything has been going really well. I have still been feeling well, I really can not be more blessed. Jason and I have lots going on right now getting ready for the baby. Currently we are in the middle of painting the house. We are almost done with the living and dining areas. We are really bad painters, so everything we are doing seams like it is taking us 10 times longer than it would take the normal person. Next we are going to move into the bedrooms. We will be waiting a little while to paint the nursery until we find out the sex. Once we get done with painting we are going to be getting new carpet. So many changes are going on right now, and we are excited about each and every one of them.

These pictures were taken yesterday. They are a lot better than the ones last week. I am actually smiling in the sideways shot, even though it does not look like it.

Week 16

I can't believe I am going to put these on here. I really did not get dressed up for these pictures. If I don't take them early in the morning then I forget to take them. I am trying to take pictures weekly but sometimes I forget. I have gained 9 pounds, I think it is all in my butt and thighs.

I am just waiting to look more pregnant and not just fat. I guess this is just part of the process.
